CHATTING
Cassie has been repeating "ba ba" and "ma ma" sounds but doesn't seem to know what they mean, except that it brings smiles to mommy and daddy's faces.
EATING
Our little food critic is not critical at all. She started eating minced beef congee, bananas, apples and oatmeal cereal. She will eat anything (so far) but is especially enthusiastic about congee and oatmeal cereal. As mentioned, rice cereal from a major brand resulted in rashes, so we tried an organic brand of oatmeal cereal (Healthy Times) with success. We have not started finger foods yet (but will soon!).
SITTING
What a difference a month makes! From all slouch to sitting upright by herself. Still a bit wobbly but she's getting there!
She is now working on pushing herself back into sitting position while on all fours.
MOVINGCassie loves rolling onto her tummy (and she is quick too!), which creates a challenge during diaper changes. Here's an example of her getting into trouble with the diaper half done...
To add to our woes, Cassie is now strong enough to lift herself on all fours and start crawling! She is both determined and fast. We need magic diapers.
STANDING
While her legs are strong, she seems to have very little interest in walking or standing. The Jumparoo even made her cry!
SLEEPING
A combination of factors: co-sleeping on the Toronto trip, random sleeping arrangements while packing for the move, sleeping alone in her own room, teething, being aware of separation from mommy, having a growth spurt... all contributed to sleep regression. Prior to Toronto/moving, Cassie slept 9 hours straight but lately, we are lucky if she can sleep for 4 hours. We are praying that this is only temporary and she will revert to old habits!
