Milestones: 1 Year Old!!!

There are many one year old milestones!

WEIGHT: Cassidy is just shy of 20 lbs.

HEIGHT: Cassidy is 79 cm (still 97%-tile) and exactly half the height of mommy! I have heard that you can predict a kid's height by multiplying his/her height at 2 years old by 2. If this is true, Cassidy is 100% going to be taller than mommy!

DEVELOPMENT:
More furniture surfing, now at superspeeds. She has taken a few steps but is very cautious before attempting.

Pointing to and reaching out to things to tell you what she wants.

Pulling off her bib to tell you she is full.

Drinking liquids by herself.

Problem solving: Not tall enough to reach the couch/ottoman? Stand on a toy! When not standing on it, she actually likes playing with the kitchen. It makes a lot of noise and she likes chewing on the pretend cookies.

Appreciating "her" space. She loves climbing on and off her desk.

Cassie has also been:

• Saying "bye-bye" (while waving her hand), "Peppa" (for the cartoon character), "baba", "mama" and various other sounds for food. 
• Pulling her hippo blanket while crawling from one spot to another. She is very attached to hippo.
• Pulling out all her hair bows from her hair.
• Turning pages of her books (and ripping/bending/eating/destroying the pages).
• Moving her hands and sometimes clapping them when she hears music.
• Putting her toys into containers.
• Helping us dress her by moving her arms or pulling her onesie over her head.

She's growing up so fast!
