Cassidy is becoming stronger and more agile.
GROWING
Eating and sleeping are still two of Cassie's favorite pastimes so she is growing at a healthy pace. Cassie is officially wearing 9 month and 12 month clothes. We met a 9 month old baby, who was the same weight as Cassie (at 5 months)!
MOVING
Cassie is moving with more control - she can roll to her destination, lie on her back/tummy depending on her mood and lift her head up to watch TV. If there are toy obstacles in her way, she just rolls right over them. Her latest obsession is the superman pose.
GRABBING
Besides grabbing glasses and hair, Cassie is now grabbing burp cloths, washcloths, our clothes and toys. She puts all of these things into her mouth.
She can even grab and play with her toy with her toes!
LISTENING
Cassie likes listening to all kinds of music/sounds, such as mommy singing (for cuddling), smooth jazz (for unwinding), Cantopop, 90's music and songs from Apple commercials. She reacts especially enthusiastically to MC Hammer! On the other hand, Grandpa has been bombarding her with Chinese Opera but she shows no interest.
OBSERVING/EATING
She seems fascinated when we eat and when mommy knits or crochets. Sometimes she evens copies our chewing motions and starts drooling. While she is salivating, we don't plan to start her on solids until we return from our trip out East, when Cassie is fully 6 months old. We heard that poo gets nasty after solids are introduced and we don't want any of that while travelling!
CUDDLING
Sometimes, Cassie is an independent baby who wiggles out of our arms to play by herself. Other times, she just enjoys cuddling with daddy and mommy.
